You should always close the shower curtain after each use so that it will dry out faster. Also it is recommended to leave the bathroom light and fan on until all moisture is gone. Mold thrive in dark and wet areas!

bleach and mold?

I've recently read in a few places online not to mix bleach and mold. something about releasing spores into the air. Does any one have any knowledge on this? please share with me. health and safety are important to me. I don't usually use bleach for anything but laundry but this seems like a biggy to me.

I simply use a pumice stone. It looks like a rectangular brick of grey concrete. Make sure it's wet and gently rub the stains. Works like a charm.

bar keepers friend works great too. Sprinkle in the toilet bowl, swish around and let sit for a couple minutes. then scrub clean.

How to get rid of soap scum?

I use dish soap on a wet sponge. Cover the entire area with suds. Let sit for a minute or two and then scrub off and rinse! Easy as pie! And safer than traditional cleaning chemicals that are harsh in smell. Plus i like the idea of not spraying all that chemical in the air for me to breath and cover my skin with!

This really is good for weekly cleanings. When you clean less frequently you may need to use a magic eraser. I've found that walmarts generic brand works just as good and is cheaper.
